This is my north star. I've seen as channels grow, they're seemingly more willing to set aside the values they started with, and I just don't want to be caught in the same trap. This is both a promise to you as a part of my creation process, and it's a reminder to myself if I ever feel lost in the sauce.
If I feel that I cannot be kind, then I will be patient. I will not make hasty responses to feedback, criticism, or even outright attacks about me. I will not make videos attacking other creators. Kindness brings people together.
Human creativity must be celebrated.
When hiring outside help, I will make sure they do not use generative AI for the work they do for these videos. When getting help on a video, they will be compensated. No work goes unpaid, ever. If I can't afford it, then I'll do it myself.
This channel is not for sale. Sponsorships and affiliates allow corporations to steal our voices. I will never take money or gifts of any kinds from any corporation. Additionally, I will not promote or recommend any products or services. The community is going to be far more insightful in recommendations than I ever would. I will always defer people to visit the Forum for recommendations on products or services.
Any video I make that discusses a topic that might be scary must have an actionable solution. If I cannot offer an actionable solution, then I will not make the video. I want to stand out by giving people hope.
If I find myself making a video to appease to the algorithm, I will stop immediately and make something fun instead.
I will not try to make quick cash off my audience with things like scams or emotional manipulation. I will keep the support tiers as affordable as the platforms will let me.
If there is ever a day where I feel that any of these values seem dumb or negotiable, I will stop making videos and get a real job.
I don't think it's a secret that I'm not a fan of what AI has become. The parts of the process I love about this job is what AI threatens to replace, so it simply does not have any appeal to me. If you love AI, that's great, but for people who are sick of it (like me), I want to ease their minds and present this very clear outline of what tools I am using, and how AI doesn't play a part when it is offered as a part of that tool. I am proud to say that everything on this website, as well as everything made for the YouTube channels is made 100% without the use of AI. No LLMs, no image generation, just anything that has the word "AI" slapped onto it is not used whatsoever.

The website builder I use does offer AI tools, but none were used when making this website, as it was made well before those features were put into place.
The forum was made using PHPBB, which does not have AI tools (as far as I'm aware).
The Privacy Visualizer scripting was made by myself. My automation skills were gained throughout my 10 year career in tech.
All videos are created without the use of Generative AI.
Research is generally done using:
Writing is done using Obsidian. When undergoing the final copyedit process, Google Docs is used for collaborative notes and comments. AI is not used in this process, copyediting is done by a human, who is also paid for their work. They agree to not use Generative AI tools for these videos.
Recording is done by myself. Audio cleanup is done by a human, who is also paid for their work. They agree to not use Generative AI tools for these videos.
Visuals, including things shown on screen, doodles, and thumbnails are made using Blender, Krita, or DaVinci Resolve. Most of the process is done just in Blender. Third party 3D assets mostly come from BlendKit, and I try to avoid AI generated assets found in there. Some 3D assets are purchased through TurboSquid, or directly commissioned from other 3D artists. They agree to not use Generative AI tools for these videos.
Live Streams use OBS, and for the public streams, I also use StreamerBot.
I use a mix of macOS, Linux Mint, and Windows 11. All AI features are turned off in those operating systems if they are offered. All animation, rendering, and final exports are done in Linux Mint. macOS is mainly used during the research and writing process, and Windows is only used for public live streams on YouTube.

I obviously care a lot about privacy, so here is a clear outline of what is collected when you use my website. I've included the benefits as well as the risks so you can make informed decisions. I have structured it to match the categories of the Privacy Visualizer in hopes that it catches on.

- Forum Registration: Email address is required to sign up for an account on the forum.
User Content:
- Forum Posts: Anything you post on the forum is stored in a database for the function of the forum. You may delete anything you post at anytime, and data will be deleted immediately from the server. In the case that you have deleted your account and want your posts removed, send me an email and I'll get those removed for you.
Any non-public information that is collected is never shared with anyone unless required by law. Any public information will be available to anyone to see.
Browsing:
- Forum Functionality: There are 3 internet cookies that are used on the forum exclusively:
1. A cookie that contains an anonymous session identifier, automatically assigned to you by the phpBB software.
2. A cookie that contains a user identifier when you sign into your account. This makes the "remember me" function work.
3. A cookie that contains when you browse the forum, including which topics have been read. This is used to improve the user experience.
You can clear these cookies at any time by clicking the "Delete Cookies" button on the bottom of the forum. These cookies can be also deleted by your browser. To see how to clear cookies, visit this page.
Identifiers:
- All Pages on this Website: IP address and basic information about the browser you use (Chrome, Firefox, etc) are automatically logged when you connect to any page on this website. This is done by both NameCheap, and sometimes Cloudflare. This information is only used to prevent bots from scraping the forum for AI training, and banning users by IP who break the rules in the forum. This data is only retained for 30 days.
- Forum Identifiers:
1. User name: Used to sign in, identifies who you are on the forum. It is discouraged that you use your real name, but this is not a requirement.
2. Password: Used to sign in. Your password is hashed, and therefore cannot be seen by anyone. For security, you are required to have a password that is more than 12 characters in length, and use a lowercase, uppercase, number and symbol. In the event of a data breach, your password would remain hashed, therefore secured.
3. Email address: Used to create an account. Can also be used to recover your account if you forget your password. This information is not hashed, so in the event of a data breach, your email would be visible. It is highly encouraged that you use an email alias to help keep you secure in the event of a data breach.
If you wish to delete your account on the forum, you can do so within your profile and navigating to the "Delete my account" tab. Please note that posts will remain on the forum, but any of the above identifiers will be removed immediately. If you want these posts to be removed, email me directly and I will manually remove them.
