Re: FiiO Echo Mini, a cool retro-modern porable MP3 player

Ooh this is a neat convo! I've been looking at ditching Spotify recently in favor of actually owning my music, but my main problem at the moment is synchronization, in that I just want my music files to be added in one central self hosted media server then have my devices query that server when I ...

Also, these are the scripts I use to remove the file prefix stuff. I didn't want to include this in the main "review" post:

#!/bin/bash

for file in "$1"*;
do mv "$file" "${file#$1}";
done;

To remove prefix, do the command: /path/to/file.sh "file prefix - "

for f in *.mp3;
do mv "$f" "${f ...

Re: [Poll] Bluesky vs Mastodon

While I have both Mastodon and Bluesky I really dont care about either. I find Mastodon a bit more open because of its Decentralized Nature and am more supportive of it. But generally I don't care about that Type of Social Media and rarely engage with it. I only have a few People there I follow via ...

Re: iPod pics!

Just repaired my Fathers old iPod, new Battery and SD Card Storage. And wrote an entire Program to Automatically Sync my Music and Podcasts on to the iPod when I plug it in to my Computer.

Re: Using arch btw

I have been a long time Arch user. The Installation Process, as long as you don't try something Funky, is actually fairly Straight forward and well Documented on the Arch Wiki. So trying it isn't too difficult, and you learn some neat things that will help you save your System when it fails.

My ...

Re: Tips you would give Linux newbies

Many Good Points already Mentioned. I would say for the Initial Linux pick focus more on the Desktop Environment than the Distro (Families). As that's what the People are actually using. Because when it comes to the Day to day use of Linux the Distro really doesn't matter.
Beyond that I would ...

Oh yeah I got that Video recommended recently, it is a really good watch. I also would recommend the other two she made after this, the one about Decay and the one about AI Hallucinations.

Re: The fun new world of surveillance pricing

In a book I am reading at the moment, "Die Daten, die ich rief: Wie wir unsere Freiheit an Großkonzerne verkaufen" (eng.: The Data I Called: How We Sell Our Freedom to Big Corporations). From a German Data Privacy Activist, has a segment talking about how Data is being collected from Surveillance ...

Everythig Glitch Productions pushes out

I just wanted to leave a general Appreciation and Discussion Topic open for Glitch Productions and all they make.
I find the Animations they push out are unique and the Story's entertaining. As a big fan of Animation, I really like the fact that Glitch is showing you can succeed in Indie Animation ...

You make a Good Point.

But In the Definition of Collins and the word's coiners its goal is to determine if a Connection is from a Human or a Bot. Anubis doesn't, nor it tries to determine if a Connection is Human or Bot. It just sets a Requirement your Browser has to meet and requires you to do a ...
