Re: Brave is not a good Private Browser

My problem is, especially in the sector of Privacy, Trust is the most important aspect. Google or Microsoft could bring a browser that is Open Source and privacy preserving. And I wouldn't even touch that shit with a 5ft pool. Out of a Simple reason the Company behind it have a long history of doing ...

Re: Browser comparison

LibreWolf rubs me the wrong way, for when I discovered it, it forbade the user even to switch the language to anything beside US English. (I know this limit no longer holds, yet I dislike the thought of discouraging making one’s browser one’s own which underlies LibreWolf’s development.) Watching ...

Re: What's something that annoys you about the modern Internet?

Breaking the back button. There are so many Website which route you through these god dam sites that instant redirect you, meaning you can't use the Return functionality as easily. Either spamming or going through the return History are the only way. Worst offender being Microsoft. But I absolutely ...

Re: Small, stupid doubt about Linux Mint

Yes you can Install Linux Mint to the Disk, so in to a parallel Partition to I assume your Windows Installation.

If you boot up the Live Disk, which is the USB, you should see the Install Mint Program or similar Named. There you go through the Install Wizard and in the Disk section you should see a ...

Re: I am a privacy guy who suffers from privacy paranoia

If you are still reading this, it is highly Unlikely that one of the Services is going to the effort to use Camera or Microphone, to see you. But to ease your mind many Computers have Hardware Switches to disable the Camera and Mic. If yours don't you may also set your OS to disable them. With ...

Re: Limiting in-app purchases (or blocking them entirely)

This is a hard one. One way I can think of is having a close Friend or Family have the key, by setting up parental settings for control over transactions. It is a bit harsh but, epically with Gambling Addictions it can be hard to ween yourself without help by others.

The other less intrusive option ...

Re: Brave is not a good Private Browser

Completely agree. Their stuff with their crypto token, which still looks to be a thing , feels weird as well. I would never ever recommend this browser to anyone (along with the Opera GX browser).

While I dislike Crypto Currency and that stuff, I do not hold it against them. The Privacy Crowd ...

Help for a Computer Fundemantals Course

So I volunteer for an Organization, which focuses on Educating Children in the Fields of STEM (ger.: MINT), ranging from the ages of 8 and 14. We in particular have a focus on Mechanics and IT. And for a while now, we see more and more Children coming to our Entry Class Offerings with little to no ...

Re: One week using Linux

My main rig still runs windows but i threw linux on a laptop of mine and it's been a really fun experience ^^. I threw ubuntu on it, just seeing that it's one of the main and big distros, and it's been super fun. After watching some cool vids, and with inspiration from watching Pewdiepie's setup ...

Brave is not a good Private Browser

This is going to be a bit of a rant.

I really dislike Brave as a Private Browser Recommendation. While they Implement some really good Features for Privacy, they also have a long history forgoing that Privacy for themselves, and going as far as doing sleazy and misleading things. They have done the ...
