Re: A few things that have helped me consume less over time.

Hard agree with a lot of your practices. A lot of times when I wanna buy a new version of something I have, simply asking myself "do I need this, do I want this, or do I just want something new?"

Sadly, a lot of the things we do buy are not built to last, so I would also recommend two additional ...

Re: Dissertation Research

OMG I'm looking over this booklet, seems like really useful info. Not just for someone like me, who has some level of knowledge. I could send this to my parents or anyone else who fits the profile of "concerned over privacy, but doesn't know or care to investigate"

Great work!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Uh hi I'm Nova, I'm a 33yo cat from space who has started their own website because I got tired of social media (granted I still have social media platforms but mostly active on Bluesky). I am an artist who likes to draw things and am an advocate for Glaze/AI-poisoning filters (yes even ibisPaint ...

Re: Finding New Music

I like this site personally; Every Noise at Once
https://everynoise.com/

The site got frozen in 2024 when the developer got laid off from Spotify, so they can’t keep it updated anymore, but it’s still an amazing repository of sounds to explore. I found a cool artist in Mandarin thanks to this ...

Sombrero Club (2-tone ska)

I found this band yesterday, and I love the music, but I mainly wanna write about how I found this band, because it was a lovely experience.

A friend of mine who's also got the ska brainworm recently sent me a playlist of underground Argentinian ska , and one of the bands in there, Skabú Simbel ...

Re: Give me cds to look for when im thrifting!

I don't know what kind of CDs you can find thrifting in Utah, but if you find anything from Ween (I recommend The Mollusk , Quebec or Shinola, Vol. 1 ) at a reasonable price (apparently, they go for ridiculous prices online), definitely go for it.
Grateful Dead is another one I recommend to everyone ...

Re: Finding New Music

I recently got a CD sound system and since I had only one CD a friend gave me, I've started going to a local music store a few blocks from my home. I know there's a few ones close to my uni but they're horribly overpriced.
But still, I recently went into one and picked the first disc with the word ...
