I feel I should not ask this as a separate post but here I am. Do I require to use a USB drive everytime to dualboot and can I do something where I can create a permanent dual boot with all the changes being saved on the pc about linux mint

Yes you can Install Linux Mint to the Disk, so in to a parallel Partition to I assume your Windows Installation.
If you boot up the Live Disk, which is the USB, you should see the Install Mint Program or similar Named. There you go through the Install Wizard and in the Disk section you should see a Parallel Installation Option.
If you don't have the Option, you might have to do it Manual by making two Partitions. One being your Boot with mount point
/mnt/boot, which I recommend the Size of 1G that it is Fat32, and second being your Root which is ext4 and mounted on / . With the rest of the Size.
Your Disk Layout should then look like this:
sda1 (ntfs) - Windows
sda2 (ntfs) - Windows
sda3 (ntfs) - Windows
sda4 (fat32) - Linux
sda5 (ext4) - Linux
Backup all your Important Data before doing this, as you can accidentally delete all your Data.
